Our Story

The Family Behind
The Farm

We are a family of seven running a working ranch and raising our children alongside the animals and land we care for every day. This isn’t just a business to us. It’s our home, our work, and the life we’re building together.

This Is Our Family

We are a family of seven, “large” by today’s standards but small by the ideas of yesteryear. Each of us brings different talents and ideas to the ranch, and we all play a part in making it work.

Jeff works off the ranch as a hydropower mechanic worker-in-charge. He spends his days fixing things at work and then comes home to build, repair, and improve things here. He’s especially good at finding ways to make our systems run better.

Gretchen usually sets the pace and steers the work. She runs the farm and homeschools the kids while encouraging them to think for themselves and pursue their own ideas.

Our kids help with all kinds of ranch work, from raising doodle puppies and gathering eggs to helping care for animals and supporting daily chores around the farm.

What We Believe

We believe in the importance of “whole” foods and living a life that supports good health. We believe in hard work and using the gifts of the land and animals, along with the talents we’ve been entrusted with, to serve and benefit others. What we do on the ranch is an extension of that purpose, and we approach it with intention and care.

We believe in “nature” (not as a god) and in nature’s God, God Almighty, trusting that creation will function as He designed. Seasons change, life grows, and the rhythms of the land continue according to His direction.

Our work is rooted in stewardship, integrity, and a commitment to doing things the right way. We aim to create something meaningful that reflects both our values and the way we believe life and land should be cared for.
