Our Cattle & Ranching Philosophy

At Pedersen Family Ranch, our cattle program is built around resilience, functionality, and long-term sustainability.

We raise Registered British White cattle, a heritage breed known for strong maternal instincts, durability, and the ability to thrive on lower-quality forage. These traits make them well-suited for our environment and allow us to raise animals in a way that aligns with the natural limitations and strengths of the land.

Rather than forcing production through heavy inputs, we focus on animals that can perform well within a balanced system. This approach results in healthier cattle, better land management, and a more consistent product over time.

Our cattle are raised with care, intention, and a commitment to doing things the right way rather than the fastest way.

beef program

We offer farm-raised beef directly to families who want to know where their food comes from and how it was raised.

Beef is available in quarter, half, and whole shares, allowing you to choose the option that best fits your household. This gives you a full range of cuts and a consistent supply of high-quality beef straight from the ranch.

Our goal is to provide a straightforward process for purchasing beef while maintaining transparency in how the animals are raised and handled.

Dairy & Homestead Cows

In addition to beef cattle, we also work with trained homestead dairy cows.

These cows are selected and trained specifically for small-scale, family use. They are A2A2-tested and suited for individuals or families looking to incorporate a reliable milk source into their own homestead setup.

We focus on temperament, ease of handling, and practical usability so that each animal is well-prepared for life outside of a larger operation.
